The Winter Benefit is the premier social event of the
New Leadership Program, a dynamic group of accomplished young professionals from across the city who support The Legal Aid Society and our mission through advocacy, volunteer work, and fundraising.
Proceeds from the event support the Society’s Civil Practice and its critical work providing free legal services and tools to more than 135,000 vulnerable children and adults annually struggling to break free from poverty.
Tracy Bonham will make her return to the Winter Benefit after a smashing performance!
Grammy™ nominee Tracy Bonham celebrated yet another banner year. Her new album, Modern Burdens, made Rolling Stone’s Top 50 albums of 2017, which they describe as “a lovingly penned postcard to Bonham’s past self, and a fascinating look at where she’s at right now.”
Where she’s at—and the current wave of commercial and critical success she’s enjoying—is remarkable and rare for any artist. But for Tracy Bonham, it’s no surprise: she’s an artist who has never ceased growing and has never stopped challenging herself, her own talents, or her audience.
Bonham’s debut, The Burdens of Being Upright, achieved Gold Record status in 1996, spawning the chart-topping hit “Mother Mother.” A pair of Grammy™ nominations followed, along with an MTV Video Award nomination for the single, which has remained a powerful anthem for the disenfranchised and isolated.
The annual NLP Winter Benefit is made possible by the support of The legal Aid Society’s loyal law firm and corporate partners.
