Major Victories for Children Across the City

Juvenile Rights staff obtained a settlement ensuring that emotionally-disturbed, eligible children would be placed in Residential Treatment Facilities with reasonable promptness as required by the Medicaid Act. Nicholson v. Williams was another landmark case in which Juvenile Rights staff represented children who had been removed from their mothers solely on the ground that their mothers were victims of domestic violence.
