Special Litigation Unit Wins 24-Hour Standard from Arrest to Arraignment

The Criminal Defense Division’s Special Litigation Unit won a landmark victory in Roundtree v. Brown, which challenged the protracted delays newly arrested persons experienced prior to being arraigned. It was a landmark case which brought about significant improvements in the criminal justice system by setting a 24- hour standard from arrest to arraignment. The case was argued by Michele Maxian.
