The Civil Practices Launches

The Civil Practice opened neighborhood offices in Queens and Staten Island under the auspices of the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity. A Research and Legislative Branch was also opened with OEO funding. Lyndon B. Johnson, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Harry S. Truman were Honorary Vice Presidents of The Legal Aid Society.
