Christopher Pisciotta, Attorney-In-Charge of the Staten Island Criminal Defense Practice, issued the following statement tonight responding to reporting in the New York City Patch on four separate police misconduct lawsuits since 2009 involving NYPD Officer Vincenzo Trabolse – the officer responsible for the violent arrest of William Colon in Staten Island last month.
“These lawsuits establish a history with Officer Vincenzo Trabolse of misconduct, of violence and dishonesty, that erodes public trust with the New York City Police Department, and it must be rooted out. Given this development and the recent assault on our client, William Colon, we are again calling on the NYPD to fire Officer Trabolse. Staten Islanders are at increased risk with him still employed and making arrests. This is a matter of public safety and accountability. He should be terminated immediately.”
