NACDL to Utilize Legal Aid’s CAPstat to Create National Police Misconduct Database

The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) announced earlier this week the launch of the Full Disclosure Project, a national resource tracking police misconduct at departments around the nation. The project will utilize the groundbreaking CAPstat database developed by The Legal Aid Society’s Cop Accountability Project.

Since its launch in March of 2018, CAPstat has served as an invaluable resource for public defender organizations, criminal justice advocates, community members and others to help hold New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers accountable who commit acts of misconduct and betray public trust, according to the New York Daily News.
